WATERBIRTH

Posted on December 26, 2011

Can’t remember the last time I busted out the graphite. It’s obviously more forgiving than pen and ink. But, I think the viewer is less forgiving based on the knowledge that you can erase. I did very little erasing with this, and actually worked it much like the pen and inks by establishing the generals and then filling in lights and darks.

My wife was just ebullient in the photo I used to draw this. The sketch doesn’t quite capture it. She is an amazing wife and mother, and I’m so honored to have had this experience with her. I also look forward to the days when she’s hands-on helping other moms get similar experiences.
