MILWAUKEE BRACE
My spine has an abnormal curvature called kyphosis. I wore this back brace for a couple years as a kid in order to correct my posture.

This was sketched in person while my wife was feeding my newborn daughter. I love that my wife is so experienced and confident in her nurturing nature, and maintains that tenderness that only a mother can provide. I so appreciate getting to be a part of this family and experience moments like this.
In this drawing, I enjoy the charged space of the couch and the way it seems to be emanating from the figure. I also appreciate how very quickly you can describe a volume by using the line to form the contours of the form, notably around the leg and alongside the right side of the couch arm.

I reflected on and prayed for this young woman that I sketched. She’s a very bright girl.

This pen and ink sketch was of someone I deeply love and admire. We had a chance to digitally exchange some deep thoughts lately, and those conversations stirred me. Many people call themselves seekers as a cowardly way to avoid closing their open mind on truth. But, sincere seekers have a fire in their belly and brave the cold in pursuit of truth.
He’s sincere.
